First Things First...In the Hospital

Our lives will never be the same! We are SO EXCITED to welcome Fischer into our family!
Daddy Joe gives Fischer his first bath.
Good job, Val--no drugs during labor!
All cozy and clean in the warmer moments after his first bath in the hospital. Still looking a bit puffy since his debut, Fischer's features are changing daily!

Special thanks to my best friend Kristy Enz (& her little girl Flora) and to my mom Grammy Pam for cheering me on through the toughest physical experience of my life.

For everyone who visited us while we were in the hospital, thank you for sharing in our special time as a new family and for welcoming Fischer into your hearts.

Congrats to you both.
He is very handsome and too early for me to tell who he looks like yet.
Have fun with him.

It was an awesome experience to be a part of Fischer's birth, and especially to be able to bond with him during the first few days. He's so very special, not only because he is our first grandchild, but because I was able to participate from his first moment. I want to thank you, Valerie, for allowing me this experience. Joe, you've got a real glow about you, and it's so neat to see what an awesome father you are already! Valerie, I always knew you'd be a perfect mom, and you've proven to be just that. I'm so very proud of you for how well you did during labor and delivery. You were a model maternity ward patient! I cried like a baby on my way home, and have had dreams nightly of Fischer since I left your house. Bill says he can't wait to meet Fischer. We're hoping to be able to do that soon! Just remember I'm up for taking him anytime you're ready to be without him for a week or so! Just say the word! I love you and miss you all!! Love, Mom :-)
